Installation

• Go to the GoLang official page and install it into your machine (https://go.dev/learn/)

Setup new project

Golang uses modules as the main source of the project's informations. So, in order to start a new project, we need to create a new module. To do so, run the command as follow:

• go mod init github.com/{your-github-username}/{your-repository-name}
  • We aren't connecting the project with the repository, but we're setting the module's name as equals to the repository's URL (it's a good practice already settled by the community)

Extensions

That are some extension on VS Code that can ease your learning curve. They're optional, but very recommended.

• Go (https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=golang.Go)
  • This extension depends on a set of extra command-line tools. If they are missing, the extension will show the "⚠️ Analysis Tools Missing" warning. Click the notification to complete the installation.
